| RECORD-BREAKING CONTRACT TO LEIRVIK MT
Leirvik Module Technology can announce today a new EPC contract from Statoil for the delivery of additional modules for the Troll A platform.
The work includes the building of new living quarters with 5300 m2 which shall be integrated with the existing living quarters on Troll A. The “new” living quarters will have a
capacity of 150 single cabins, recreation areas, administration centre, control room and all
other necessary facilities to operate an offshore hotel.
The additional modules will be built in aluminium. Low weight, no cost for maintenance and
environmental considerations have been the main aspects in the customers choice of material.
The planning and engineering work will start immediately and the prefabrication of aluminium will start early in the autumn of 2007. The modules shall be delivered complete tested in April 2009 and will be installed as two large modules by heavy-lift vessels during the summer of the same year. 5 smaller modules shall be installed by platform cranes after the hook-up of the two main modules has been completed.
This is the largest single contract in LEIRVIK MT’s history, the contract value is more than 725 Million NOK. “This means that we per today have an historical high order reserve of a total of 1.700 Million NOK, to be delivered during the next 24 months. This volume will give the company reasonable challenges, which I am sure our capable organisation will handle”, says Adm. Director Harald Karlsson. He adds that Leirvik MT has an objective setting to employ appr. 40 new staff members in addition to the 35 already employed this year.
