Aluminium or steel
Aluminium today is known as a safe and suitable material for
accommodation modules and a number of other offshore installations.
Factors that favours aluminium are low weight, no surface
treatment necessary and lower maintenance costs which leads
to minimum life cycle cost.
Steel structures are still relevant where requirements for
low weight are of less importance and the expected design
life on the field is shorter.
