LEIRVIK MODULE TECHNOLOGY AWARDED A NEW CONTRACT ON TROLL
“C”
Norsk Hydro has today awarded an EPCI contract to Leirvik
Module Technology. The scope of work is to extend the existing
Living Quarter capasity from 70 to 100 persons on the Troll
C platform.
The work is extra demanding as the upgrading will take place
when the platform is in full operation with a minimum of disturbances
to the daily production.
9 small aluminum modules will be fabricated onshore by Leirvik
Module Technology and then transported to the platform, lifted
onboard, installed and assembled integrated into the existing
living quarter (also fabricated by Leirvik Module Technology).
The design work has already been started and the prefabrication
of modules and parts to be started by the end of February.
Preliminary and preparatory offshore activities will start
in the early part of April. All works to be completed and
tested by August 1st 2005. By this the increased living quarter
capasity can be utilized for the upgrading of the Fram East
project.
This contract is the 4th in a row of similar living quarter
extensions performed. Leirvik Module Technology’s advantage
within this marked segment is to design and fabricate light
aluminum modules which can be lifted using the existing offshore
platform cranes .
This contract has a value of approx NOK 55 mill.
